Pre-Ballet 1: Ages 3-5
This 45‑minute beginner ballet class introduces young dancers to the basics of ballet through playful movement. The focus is on building coordination, balance, rhythm, confidence, and the ability to follow directions. Children learn foundational ballet elements using imaginative games and props like scarves, wings, and stuffed animals, creating a fun and engaging learning environment.

Pre-Ballet 2: Ages 5-7
This 45‑minute Pre‑Ballet 2 class builds on early ballet skills by introducing turnout, coordination, spatial awareness, and class etiquette. Students begin learning foot positions and basic ballet vocabulary while continuing to explore movement through games and props like beanie babies and scarves.

Ballet 3: Ages 6-9
This class teaches students foundational ballet skills, including terminology, rhythm, coordination, and basic arm and foot positions. Dancers focus on proper body alignment and technique while beginning elementary barre and center work. Movement games keep the experience joyful as students build muscle awareness and prepare for the more structured training of the upper school.

Upper School Ballet
The Upper School at Oregon Ballet Academy offers advanced training that requires instructor approval for placement. These classes focus on technical precision, alignment, and artistic expression, helping dancers build the strength and coordination needed for complex movements like pirouettes and jumps. As students progress, teachers will determine when it is appropriate to incorporate pointe work into their training.

Ballet 5: Ages 9-12
*Level 5 introduces introductory pointe. This is the level at which dancers at OBA receive their pointe shoes with instructor approval. All female dancers are required to take the pointe class even if they are not yet on pointe to work on getting ready for pointe shoes

Boys Free Ballet Class
This is a boy’s identifying only ballet class. It is taught by a male teacher. There is an emphasis on fun energetic steps such as push ups, jumps, turns, etc.

Beginner Adult/Teen Ballet Class Ages: 15+
Beginner Adult/Teen Ballet Class for those wanting to get back into taking ballet class, or who haven't done ballet but always wanted to.

Intermediate Adult/Teen Ballet Class Ages: 15+
Intermediate Adult/Teen Ballet Class for those wanting to get back into taking ballet class. It is a regular ballet class structure so if you are new to or have never done ballet please try our beginner class first.

Open Class Beginner and Intermediate Levels Ages: 18+
Open Class is for those who have taken ballet before or do currently and are wanting a casual ballet class that will give them a nice workout.
